I am a Systems Administrator based in Sydney, Australia - so we’ll sometimes have an Australian aspect thrown in here and there. I spend approx. 50% of my time between flavours of *nix and Windows - Both have stregths and weaknesses.. and Mac’s are just plain sexy (albeit overpriced).

I prefer simplicity over complexity where complexity is unneeded - I’m mostly certain the Java crowd probably isn’t like that. My interests are in High-Performance / High Availability computing, Virtualisation, Design, Useability, Replication (broadly speaking), Collaboration, ‘green’ computing and Rich Internet Applications. I am envious of hardcore programmers as they are able to create and display their works, something that few Systems Engineers really get to do, or that others can appreciate.

Away from a computer I enjoy travel, photography, language, world music & eastern religious philosophy
